Pierre Bernard and Yoga

I do not know much about this guy - but I saw this on Jane Jarecki's blog, and it's certainly an interesting bit of yoga history!

Teaching Opportunity at YVT

This opportunity is open to all teacher trainers!

Every Saturday, Yoga Vermont will provide a free class to the community - to be taught by you.

These classes will be at the Downtown Studio from 8:30-9:30 am, providing plenty of time to come teach, then join the teacher training workshops afterwards! A great way to experiment and practice teaching.

Sign-up tomorrow
at the Chase Mill teacher training session for your dates - the first Saturday class will be on June 5th.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Om Tryambhakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat

Om. We worship The Three-Eyed Lord Shiva who is fragrant and who increasingly nourishes the devotees. Worshipping him may we be liberated from death for the sake of immortality just as the ripe cucumber easily separates itself from the binding stalk.

Meaning explained by Swami Chinmayananda here:

See you all soon :)

Moving through and eradicating fear

The Burlington Yoga Conference exceeded all of my expectations. Thank you and Namaste to everyone involved, what a beautiful event to have in our hometown!!!!

A theme that was present in all of the events and workshops I participated in was dispelling fear. In pranayama, we learn to retain our exhale, and move through our instinct to fear loss of breath, and of the fear of death.

In the Trance Dance, we practiced moving through our fear of embarrassment, our fear of not knowing what to do next, and simply experiencing all of the above as something beautiful.

You are all brave, graceful and growing when you practice! Thank you!
